SEND

Our SEND Intent

At St Columba’s, we believe that every person is made in the image and likeness of God and deserves to be valued, included, and supported. Guided by Catholic Social Teaching, especially the dignity of the human person and care for those in need, we are committed to being a fully inclusive school where every child can flourish.

We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that helps all pupils reach their full potential—personally, socially, emotionally, and academically. We work to remove barriers to learning, provide the right support, and hold high expectations for all.

Every child has the right to have their individual needs met, so we offer tailored support in the following areas:

  • Cognition and Learning

  • Communication and Interaction

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health

  • Sensory and/or Physical Needs

Our school community takes shared responsibility for every child’s wellbeing and achievement. Every teacher is a teacher of every pupil, especially those with special educational needs and disabilities. In this way, we follow the example of Christ by helping all children experience life to the full (John 10:10).
